Make The Nenthorn Farmhouse your country escape on the Otago Central Rail Trail.

Located in the peaceful Nenthorn Valley near Macraes, the farmhouse is approximately a 25-minute scenic drive from Hyde Railway Station. Our complimentary self-drive vehicle at Hyde gives Rail Trail guests the freedom to make their way to the farmhouse in their own time, without needing to coordinate a scheduled pick-up or transfer.

Simply finish your day’s riding at Hyde, collect the vehicle and drive to Havrincourt Farm. The following morning, return to Hyde to continue your journey along the trail.

The Nenthorn Farmhouse is a beautifully presented period farmhouse set on our working sheep and beef farm. Guests have the entire house to themselves, with two bedrooms, a double sofa bed and an optional separate sleepout, allowing us to accommodate groups of up to eight by arrangement.

Breakfast & Dinner
After a day on the trail, you can settle in for the evening without needing to head out again.

Our generous breakfast hamper includes farm eggs, homemade granola, Greek yoghurt and fruit compote, butter, raspberry jam, milk and complimentary bacon, along with tea and freshly made coffee from our fully automatic coffee machine. You'll also find a fresh loaf of home-baked bread waiting for you.

Home-cooked dinners can be pre-ordered and are provided ready for you to finish heating and enjoy in the farmhouse at a time that suits you — perfect after a long day of riding.

More than a Rail Trail stop
Havrincourt Farm is also well positioned for travellers exploring the wider region. We are close to Ramrock Road, making The Nenthorn Farmhouse a particularly convenient country accommodation option for those combining the Southern Way 1000 touring route with the Otago Central Rail Trail or a wider Otago road trip.

Stay for the night, or allow a little longer to enjoy the quiet surroundings, explore the farm and discover the historic Macraes and Nenthorn area.
