Ride the Trail

The former railway line is now the Otago Central Rail Trail which is managed by DOC in partnership with the Otago Central Rail Trail Charitable Trust. The Trail is free to ride and visitors normally engage a Tour Planner (Cycle Operator) to plan their self guided  cycle experience, which includes luggage transfers and a return shuttle service.

Airport transfers are also available thru Cycle Operators for Queenstown and Dunedin airports. 

You can also join a fully guided and supported cycle tour experience. Whatever option you chose, they will share their local knowledge and expertise with you to ensure you have a great cycle tour on the OCRT. 

Alternatively you can make all your own bookings and complete an independent ride.
