The perfect interactive souvenir booklet that tells the history of each former Railway Station Site that are available for purchase from our supporting leading local Cycle Operators - Bike It Now, Shebikeshebikes, Central Cycle Trails, Trail Journeys and Big Sky Adventures.
It is your opportunity to give back to the trail which is free to ride and all the proceeds are used for further enhancement of the our world renowned trail to make it an even better experience.
To date we have relocated old railway buildings, built Ganger Sheds, provided all the informative boards telling the stories of the area, directional signage, picnic tables, seating, native plantings and maintain the former railway station sites.
Funds will be used build the Sun Sculpture at Ranfurly which will complete the Interplanetary Cycling Solar experience. It also helps us to further develop Rail Tales website, a free educational school curriculum creating a 152 km outdoor classroom -www.railtales.nz.
We have so much other work to do, more shelters at former station sites, returning old railway wagons to the trail along with so much more, so please ask your Cycle Operator to include a $15.00 Passport for you in your Cycle Tour Package.
If you are riding the trail independently, please purchase a Passport one of the Cycle Operators or email admin@otagocentralrailtrail.co.nz for any gift or bulk orders which will incur a postage costs.

Collect Stickers As You Go
At each station site a red-painted replica of a NZ Railways Department emergency phone box houses a sketch that matches to a sticker in your Passport. Record your journey by placing the sticker into the corresponding station site.
Get Your Passport
Please ask to purchase your Passport at the start of your journey from a leading Cycle Operator, your Guided Tour Company or Bike Hire business.
The Passport provides a wonderful record of your journey and is a greatly appreciated contribution from you to the Trail. .
