Experience our Otago Central Rail Trail which is ranked as the best accessible cycle trail in the Southern Hemisphere and in the top 4 worldwide. Enjoy the wide surfaces, gentle grades, low volume numbers, numerous access points and is suited for riders of all skill levels as well as adaptive equipment.
The compacted gravel surfaces have no steep inclines or tight bends and have been built to be enjoyed with ease.
We have had partially sight impaired visitors riding on tandem bikes while others have enjoyed the trail with tow-bikes or trikes which are all available for hire from our the Cycle Operators if required. An e-bike is also another great option to enjoy the trail in comfort.
The Tiroti bridge between Daisybank and Hyde requires a short detour off the trail. The chicanes and stock grates have all been widened to meet the NZCT Cycle Standards.
