Update: Trail now open at Poolburn

UPDATE: FRIDAY 18 JULY
The Otago Central Rail Trail is now open at Poolburn. We have received an update from DOC on the slip situation and can now confirm that the section is now open. Minor tidy up works will continue on Monday morning but the trail will remain open.

Trail closed between Lauder and Auripo due to recent slippage on the trail this section. There are soft closures in place at the entrances of the Otago Central Rail Trail near Auripo and Lauder. There is a hard closure of the Otago Central Rail Trail around the slip area, so the trail is impassable at this point. It is a significant slip and we wait updates on the estimated period of the closure.
