Les Cleveland Otago Central Rail Trail Trust Chairperson
from 1994 to 2002 and Patron until his death May 15, 2013
The Otago Central Rail Trail Trust has lost a great friend and supporter whose contribution to the initial development of the trail and its continuing success was outstanding. Les was instrumental in progressing the idea of a rail trail on the former Otago Central railway line and in his usual way gave his energy, ideas, enthusiasm along with extensive knowledge and influence to ensure it became a reality.
His wise counsel and genuine interest continued until his death. The Otago Central Rail Trail Trustees mourn his passing. Our sympathies go to his wife and family.
