Ida Valley

This was a former Railway stop in the middle of a long straight between Poolburn Gorge and Oturehua. Now all that remain are a Rail Trail Passport box and a DOC toilet among the willow trees.

The Ida Valley railway stop only serviced three farming families – but for a few years it was the railhead, so it had a turntable, where the engines could be turned around for the return trip to Dunedin.
