Naseby Ice Luge
The Southern Hemisphere’s only ice luge track was opened in Naseby in June 2008. The 360m track is hard packed snow covered with a layer of ice, within low wooden walls. It’s an adrenalin rush for those who enjoy a thrill, racing around the 10 curves of the track on a sled, although first timers are only likely to master the bottom half of the track.
Situated next door to the curling and ice rinks and winding back into the Naseby Forest, the luge is a wonderful winter experience for anyone eight-years-old and upwards. Sleds, safety equipment and tuition are provided but you’ll need to bring your own gloves.
Once its winter (June, July & August) the track is generally open each day from 10.00am to 4.oopm. Bookings are highly recommended and even if you don’t want to book, phone ahead to make sure we’re open.
