Grey Ridge Vineyard

Grey Ridge is a boutique vineyard only 5 minutes from the Clyde end of the Trail, and Paul and Sue Keast are keen to share both their spectacular vineyard views and their gold-medal winning Pinot Noir with guests or Cellar Door visitors.

In their former life in the international oil industry Paul and Sue enjoyed exposure to many different “hospitality experiences” ranging from rural B&Bs and city hotels, to high end Safari Lodges.   So when they bought Grey Ridge with it’s spacious house and lovely setting, they could immediately see the potential to offer guests a unique experience.  The expansive views alone are worth the stay, but when combined with a chance to taste and discuss the wines with the owners, and the opportunity to walk amonst the vines with Paul as he describes the vine-to-wine processes, it all adds up to a unique, relaxed and enjoyable “vineyard experience”.

While operating the vineyard is their main focus Paul and Sue have both enjoyed the Otago Central Rail Trail experience and can appreciate the attraction of a night in luxurious and relaxed surroundings at the beginning or the end of that adventure.  They are very happy to pick up or drop off their guests at the Clyde Rail head, and love to share their vineyard with fellow adventurers of all varieties.

They say “Our 2 bedroom Guest Suite, with private lounge and private access, offers seclusion and luxurious comfort. However, it is also part of our house so we are nearby if you need help or advice. We offer all guests a delightful breakfast, and you can even join us for dinner (if arranged in advance) if you would like to relax completely at the end of the day.”
