Opened in December 2009 on the banks of the mighty Clutha opposite historic Clyde Village, Picnic Creek is set on extensive grounds that boast a large pond complete with sun-lounger jetty and resident pet ducks. Access is off Earnscleugh Road or direct from the Centennial Walkway which follows the banks of the Clutha and is often used as an alternative route to cycling or walking the Rail Trail between Clyde and Alexandra. Accommodation is in two queen rooms and a king-single twin. Ensuites are tiled and have underfloor heating; with one of the queen room ensuites affording the luxury of a bath with shower over. Guests seeking privacy will want for nothing. Each room has a television, and tea and coffee making. Those wishing to socialise are welcome to make themselves at home in the communal lounge. For evening dining in Clyde, Wendy or Jacko offer a deliver and collect service.
