Mountain range and high plateau views from Maniototo Lodge Bed and Breakfast are said to be Ranfurly's best. But views alone are not what make this accommodation such a memorable place to stay for a night or longer when doing the Otago Central Rail Trail. On the southern outskirts of Ranfurly just 500m along from where the Rail Trail crosses Alexandra Street, Maniototo Lodge Bed and Breakfast occupies a grand villa built in 1904 as the Catholic presbytery. Reporting the opening ceremony, the New Zealand Tablet described the presbytery as having a 'substantial charter' and 'the building is one of the handsomest and most complete in the diocese'.

Formerly from Devonport in Auckland, owners Chris and Gary Parkes, have embarked on extensive renovations, refurbishing the three spacious bedrooms and guest lounge as well as providing two brand new guest bathrooms and a guest dining room leading out on to a sun-bathed breakfast patio. A sparkling new kitchen gives Chris everything she needs to conjure up baked goodies to greet guests on their arrival.

Guest privacy is further ensured by Chris and Gary living in a self-contained annex built in the early 1940's to accommodate the live in housekeeper.
