One and a half years to build and the realisation of a long-held dream by hosts Marg Matheson and Jack Samuel, 620sq m Log House Retreat is a lofty two-stories beautifully in harmony with its pine tree backdrop. First impressions are awe inspiring. The timber-lined cathedral ceiling, enormous bay window and spectacular staircase where tree roots have been retained as a decorative feature. An upstairs  suite with queen bed / ensuite and private lounge. Here is also the guest reading lounge , a further two queensize bedrooms share a common bathroom which if one of the rooms is unoccupied becomes a private ensuite. All bedrooms are naturally spacious with radio-stereo and coffee and tea making facilities.

Marg and Jack are happy to collect guests and their bicycles from the Rail Trail for the few minutes drive to Log House Retreat where a complimentary drink and platter awaits their arrival. Your Evening dining at an Alexandra cafe or restaurant --- most run free courtesy coaches. A delectable gourmet breakfast is included in the tariff. Aside from the enormous downstairs lounge with its many sofas and easy chairs, guests are invited to use the extensively decked outdoor living area to make the most of views and sunny aspect. Log House Retreat is not suitable for children and young teenagers.
